prompted us to stay in bed a lot longer than we should have as once the day started to emerge we were way behind in getting organised to get going to start our land art. You think I would have learnt by now to get things organised the night before such as sandwiches, boots etc but it seems no matter what age you are if you are inclinded to be unorganised then that is how it is!!
We set off to Clougha to get a slab of rock for Richard, he to use a certain type of rock so Clougha is the best place. We then came back home to collect our welllies!!!! That done, we set off for the Forest of Bowland where we set up a camp for the afternoon!
First of all I made this, I found a very good silver birch log which I used to make the main V shape in between the two trees. Then I scoured for some good branches to lodge in. It wasn't easy to find the branches, there lots around bu they were too soft to use. I was trying to make a very modern looking piece of land art and I was pleased with the effect I managed to create.
I then decided I ought to eat some lunch, it was nearly 2.30pm by now and I was feeling hungry, when I start to do land art or any art I get very absorbed and forget about eating or drinking until I start to feel very grumpy and the art isn't going to plan, which is probably due to low blood sugar causing a lack of proper concentration. Richard notices it in me straight away and I get reprimanded for not taking care of myself!
I wanted to make something with mud and I am particulary fascinated with Frasers Spiral
