17th January 2011

Four days since I last did a blog entry, it is not easy finding the time or the inclination on some days, but that must surely mean there will be more to write, (probably not)!

Going back to Thursday 13th, lunch time we did our canal round, I like the canal walk. We go over the fields initially, it is a pleasant section of the walk, lots of sheep and soon they will be bearing spring lambs. They are so cute when little and they gather in small groups creating havoc. Last spring we watched while a large group of lambs congregated together and then proceeded to run the whole length of the field jumping and skipping as they ran, they did this half a dozen times, they also had a leader and he or she took great delight in getting the followers to chase up and down the field. The mum's took no notice whatsoever and continued to have their heads down chewing the grass!

We popped into the shop to get provisions and I had a quick chat to Carol and Chris.

Friday 14th we went to Glasson dock to do a bit of bird watching. I managed to get my dad's telescope from the house in Devon we went there in November last year and now we regularly take it out to do a bit of bird watching. I did not think I would ever get into bird watching but now I kind of like it. It is relaxing and seeing them close up with the telescope is great. I have been letting Rich do all the spotting as I find looking through binoculars sets off my vertigo, quite a few days last week I was having vertigo episodes, maybe it is something to do with my headaches, I don't know, but anyway I seem ok today so that is good, and I hope it continues to be so.

Saturday 15th and Sunday 16th were both miserable days, the rain just did not stop, lots of floods all over the place. The temperature was staying at a steady 9/10 outside too, but because it was so damp I felt chilly, I much prefer the dry cold days, at least you can wrap up and get out.

I walked to the shop as I needed to pop into the hairdressers for a colour test, it is the first time I have been asked to pop in for a colour allergy test. I have not been to this hairdressers before, previous places I have been to have never offered an allergy test for hair colour and I think maybe they should!

The last place I went to did such a poor job I decided to not go there again and so I am going somewhere new, it is a newly set up local hairdressers, Jan Kent the hairdresser is about my age and seemed pleasant enough, fingers crossed she is a good hairdresser too!

The rest of Saturday was spent watching TV and reading, can't be bad can it!

Sunday was a washout too, we got up late, had a breafast of poached egg and toast and marmalade then went off down the town to get George's birthday present, he will be 2 years on Sunday 23rd! We bought him a 5 hour postman pat dvd and a hooded camoflauge fleece top, Im sure his mum will appreciate both!

We then ended up treating ourselves to a Wii Harry Potter game and a Pikmin game. The Harry Potter game was very absorbing and a couple of hours flew by very quickly. We had beans on toast for dinner as we could not find the energy to cook anything then watched a very interesting art programe on a artist called Peter Howson, his work was amazing I was very moved by a lot of his work. All day I have been wanting to Google him and gain more info on his work but have not yet had time. If I could paint even a tiny amount in the skill he has I would be happy.

Monday 17th

A much brighter day today, the sun has even shown it's face and about time too. It is supposed to be high pressure all week so with any luck it is going to be sunny ALL week. I managed to get up quite early compared to my previous few weeks, 7.30am , it was great, managed to get so much done this morning, cooking a bit of cleaning and put together George's birthday banner, YEY! Now I just need to get the sewing manchine on it to finish off the binding, I had a bit of trouble with the machine so I have left it now till tomorrow, I'm a bit bannered out for the moment.

We are still looking after Cassie the cat across the road, I have been going over there about 3.30pm taking across a cup of tea with me and some biscuits and watch deal or no deal, and of course Cassie gets some company and a cuddle!! Ginny her mum get's back on Friday, I go off to Bournemouth for a week to stay with Helen, Andy and the boys. Looking forward to that, I'm doing the child care for the beginning of next week so that should be fun, I hope it is going to be dry so we can go to the park!

Best get some tea on now, chicken drum sticks in a sticky spicy sauce, yum!
